Hong Kong 2012- Second Round

Went to Hong Kong recently and visited places that I've never been before. The popular temple of Wong Tai Sin.
This temple is located at the far side of the Green line. From the Hong Kong Station (Yellow line), we rode the train towards the Green line, transferred lanes then departed via Wong Tai Sin Station. This temple does not require you to pay anything. Just look around the vicinity.
Lot's of monuments inside. There's this dragon..
The Buddha that looks like a conqueror
Some small replicas that lines the walkway.
The place is crowded with tourists. Travelers are there to pray for good tidings. The temple also reminds me of the Old School Chinese movies.

Visitors of the temple lights these sticks together with their prayers. 10 HKDs for a bundle of burning sticks :)
And here is a fountain where you can wish before you exit the Temple. On our way back we went to Victoria Peak. For some reason, we went thru the wrong route (again). We walk towards the pier looking for the 15c Bus. We hopped on bus 15, therefore missing the Peak Tram Terminus.
We saw this Iconic HSBC building on our way.
And now, I was able to redeem myself. Finally able to capture a better picture of the view from top of "The Peak". After the day, we want back to Disneyland.
We missed the parades.. But we were able to enjoy the newest attractions.

The Grizzly Gulch. It is done in reminiscence to the old school mining areas of the west. It's all wood and rocks. We were able to enjoy the latest roller coaster ride down in the caves.

Then after a year, finally been to the Toy Story Area. We're living the movies.

Lot's of Woody and Buzz. We were able to enjoy Andy's toys.
The soldier's plane..

And the kid's were able to enjoy the parachute drop.  The queue's were long as usual. But it's all worth it.
After the long Disneyland trip, we called the night done. This is a photo of the Observatory at the Tomorrowland. Disneyland is always a fun place to be. PS: They're expanding, there's this Mystic Route that is about to open anytime soon.

Singapore- The land where Half Lion/ Half Mermaid exists

It's been a while...
About time to share adventures in other places.
Such as the one where the Merlion exists. next stop Singapore. It is a small country near Malaysia where people walks fast, Are highly fashionable, And where the goods are relatively expensive.
Well it's clean, orderly and very accommodating, that's why spending some is worth it.
As usual, the trains stood up as our main transportation. It's clean, quiet and pricey. We bought the EZ- link card for convenience. That card pays for your fare anywhere, be it buses or trains. The rail system is really fast and is time oriented. You can never go late with them. We rode towards Chinatown.
Hotel 81 is the Hotel where we stayed for three days. The place is clean and cheap as compared to other hotels. And it is readily accessible from the SMRT (Singapore's train system). Plus it's near the money savvy places.
Above depicts the outskirts of our Hotel.
And this is Chinatown. Cheap stuff where you can buy gifts, great finds for friends and keepsakes.
Food is expensive in Singapore. But if you're smart, you can look for Hawker's. This is a food galleria for the people. They're cheap and is good enough. Most Singaporeans, and travelers eat here. They have those traditional foods, amongst everything, I love the "Laksa", none other than that because most foods contains curry. Beware of the curry. It smells horrible.
After a quickie lunch, we went to the Orchard Road. It is the shopping district of Singapore. Above is the spot where they sell the cheapest chocolates in town.
And since the Singaporeans are fashionable, The designer brands that we admire is everywhere. After a short trip to the shopping district, We went for a trip to farther places.
This is the walkway towards our journey to the Merlion Shrine. The house photos made by kids.
And this is the picturesque Marina Bay. It has the Large hotel with a big ship above. The clover building beside it and the Louis Vuitton HQ.
The Spiral, one of the walk ways towards the Shrine.
Tip of advise: Do not forget the Umbrella. It very hot and you might end up having an uneven tan.
Font view of the Marina Bay Hotel
The Merlion. It guards Singapore from harm. And it spits water to send them away.
And for the night life, We cam here to the Clarke Quay bay. It's a party area near the river. There's a lot of tourists in this place. Booze are overflowing, But they're expensive. Our home grown San Miguel Beer costs around 5 SD or rather 150 pesos.

 Some photos of CQB.
And you can never say that you've been in Singapore if you haven't been in Universal Studios. It is located in Sentosa. You just have to ride the train towards the end of the Purple line and enter the mall connected thru it. Then go up to level 4. Located there is the train station to Sentosa. You'll never get lost because there are a lot of markings all over. Here are some photo's from the Univ Studios
 New york area.
 The Kung fu panda.
The woody wood peckers tried to take us away!
And it's a battle between me and Frankie...
A warning from the Madagascar Mammals
Ogre's Lair. Beware of the Shrek.
Fiona's Castle- From the Land, Far far away
 Egypt's Temple of Anubis

 Bumblebee and friends:)

New York's public Library and the streets

 And lastly the Jurassic Park..

Night Falls towards the land, we made it towards the yellow castle.
And lastly, our trip wouldn't be complete if we have not tried the home grown delicacy. We had the popular "Tiger Beer". It's sweet but is expensive. This trip will always be special because Universal Studios is amazing! What made me disappointed is the food. I didn't like their food. They place a lot curry in everything. So travelers, beware of the curry.
